We only stayed one night at the Greenhouse, but thought it was great! The decor is modern and cozy. Our room was bright with natural light and felt very comfortable. We loved the map in the room and coupons for local businesses! Breakfast served downstairs was small but good. The walkable location in town was convenient, as was the food hall below for food and bev options!

What a super location in a cool town! We arrived quite late but were made very welcome with a quick check in & given the scoop on the best places to eat in the food hall. The room was very well designed & felt very Icelandic contemporary in design. The rooms are warm, but given its design & windows, it's not a problem. Breakfast is also very good. Would definitely recommend

Hotels in Iceland really are the pits and this is no different. The room was so warm we didn’t sleep at all either night, luckily the mattresses were ok which hasn’t been our experience in Iceland so far (this is our 9th hotel). ||The bedroom itself is truly like a furnace. Sweltering all night and no relief at all. Had to keep getting up and taking cold showers. No way to turn down. Greenhouse is right!!! ||No plugs by the bed work which is a problem when needing to charge your phone for travel but also access alarm clocks. They just spit out the plug. ||Orange lamps above beds continuously flickered like there was a connectivity issue so we had no bedside lamps. Had to have the main lights on. ||Door broke and we couldn’t enter our code and had to get a member of staff to come reset the whole system. ||This place presents itself as quirky and upmarket but it really is far from. The staff are incredibly rude (INCREDIBLY) aside from a nice guy on the bar, and really don’t want to be here. Seen as miserable as the guests! The food staff look utterly miserable.||Food court jam packed with nowhere to sit and buzzers going off constantly.||Breakfast is poor.||Dude on cafe/reception (8.30pm Sat 7th June) tried to charge us nearly 3x the advertised price for some chocolates (advertised as 890, tried to charge 1,890). When we questioned it and showed him the price on the advertising display in the shop he just shrugged like we were idiots for questioning it and said “I dunno I just scan the stuff” and didn’t offer to help, check the price with a manager or charge the advertised price. ||Got nachos from the food court and they were so unbearably dry it was like eating cardboard. The nachos themselves were textured in a way they were totally unpalatable and the toppings on them were disgusting and in themselves dry. Inedible. Salty and awful. Went to bed hungry which isn’t ideal with a travel day tomorrow. ||Iceland’s beauty is second to none but aside from the fabulous Lake Hotel in Egilsstadir the hotels are just horrendous. At least most of them know they’re awful but this one thinks it’s swanky.||Never again. Unless you want a full lived experience of sweltering lava in your own hotel room! I feel like I’m melting. Can’t wait to get home.

Was not a fan of this hotel at all. The lobby was the best part. The food and the staff were also good. Sadly the room itself was extremely small and hot and no fans available. We were recommended to open the window all the way to combat the heat, which did help, but instead got a lot of flies that got my husband and bit up. Would not be staying here again or recommend it to a friend.

We stayed at The Greenhouse for 3 nights, our stay was comfortable enough. The town is adorable, we loved walking down to the park with a beautiful waterfall & geothermal vents. The room was disappointing, old ripped towels & sheets and things felt a bit grimy overall (which isn’t surprising considering they don’t clean daily). It seems to me more emphasis is put on the aesthetic appeal of the lobby/boutique/dining hall than actual substantive accommodations.

Loved this hotel! Room was spacious. Doors to the rooms are heavy and loud so they slam pretty easily (can hear it all night long). Love that you can just walk downstairs to the bar/food hall.
