Ideal for travelers on a budget seeking a clean, no‑frills stop near the Blue Lagoon. Perfect if you're flexible, well-prepared (bring your own towels/soap!), and okay with shared bathrooms. Steiner Guesthouse is located a short trip (10 minutes by car) to the Blue Lagoon and about 25 minutes from the Keflavik Airport. We booked the studio room. It is located on the ground floor off the front of the house with a private entrance. It had a queen bed and a sofa bed, small table with four chairs, microwave, one burner stovetop (we did not use) and small refrigerator. There was also a private bathroom in the studio room. I only went in the main house (where the other rooms are located) to meet the other guests so no opinion on those rooms. No one available at check-in but you will receive an email a couple of days before arriving. The email met our needs so had no need to contact anyone on arrival. Overall, it is clean but bathroom could use a little work. Our key was in room door upon arrival. For the price we were satisfied for our family of four (two adults and two kids).

We found this sweet spot last minute, late at night after spending a couple of hours at the Blue Lagoon. It was only twenty-minutes away, we prepaid online and upon arrival no one answered but the door was unlocked. There was a note on the wall to call a number just above the phone at the desk. We called, a woman answered and told us our room was #3 and that the key was at the door. The guest house was warm, had a homey feeling and beautiful photographs of Iceland on the walls. The kitchen was efficient with plenty of extras marked "free" like coffee, pasta, bread and condiments. The next day, we wanted to take it easy by cruising down the coast heading east. We found trails and historical landmarks along the way. We stayed another night - the lady was super nice and extended the same rate and same room so we did not have to move out. We had a chance to pet her wonderful well-behaved dogs and a nice chat. This place is a great value for anyone looking for a base near the capital, airport and near the coast. There is a neat little food stand just around the corner- the owner is quite friendly and served delicious fish and chips (the cheapest and best flavor we found in our short stay).

Simple accomodation but enough for short stays. We stayed just for one night after landing at Keflavik airport in the evening. The house has 5 rooms in total, 2 shared bathrooms and a communal kitchen. We did not meet the host as we got e-mail directions for self check-in (very convenient option if you arrive late at night). Room no. 4 (upstairs) was tiny and clean - bed, washbasin, some place to hang the clothes and few cabinets along the wall. Not much space to move around so not very comfortable. You leave the shoes at the entrance. ||||Shared bathroom was good, with hot shower and generally clean. Kitchen also OK, with some complimentary food from the host to use for breakfast if needed (but do not think the breakfast is included in price - just some food to share like butter, jam or cereals) what is a nice gesture.||||There's a small parking in front of the house. ||||As for Iceland standards, the price was great (I used discount code from one of US online booking agents) but accommodation can be recommended rather for short stays.

La guesthouse è davvero molto carina. Si trova a Grindavik una cittadina che mi é piaciuta molto. La guesthouse é pulita e le camere grandi con lavandino in stanza. Solo due pecche: 1) i bagni si trovano solo al piano inferiore;|2) nella mia stanza c'era solo una presa ( poteva essere inserita una doppia spina).|Tutto il resto era perfetto. La cucina ricca di ingredienti e con tutto il necessario per cucinare qualsiasi cosa. Carino anche il salotto.

La posizione è ottimale per raggiungere le attrazioni turistiche della penisola. La cittadina di Grindavík è molto suggestiva con il suo porto ed il suo museo del pesce salato (distante pochi metri dall’abitazione) La casa è carina, ci sono 5 camere, tutte con lavandini e specchiere interne e due bagni, un ampio salone con Tv ed una cucina. La cucina non era il massimo della pulizia; ma per una notte ci si può pure adattare tenendo presente il rapporto qualità prezzo.

Probabilmente ho avuto sfortuna io ma non mi sono trovato bene. Mi è stata riservata la camera di fianco alla cucina, al piano terra. Si sente tutto, quando le persone prendono qualcosa dalla cucina, vanno in bagno o parlano in salotto che si trova vicino alla camera. La pulizia della casa di per sé era buona. Idem per i bagni. Buona connessione al wifi. Quello che mi ha lasciato perplesso è stata la cucina. Stoviglie sporche, unte. Più che cibo messo a disposizione mi sembra che quello che c'è sia cibo lasciato dai visitatori che passano e abbandonano ciò che non possono portarsi via. Di tutte le sistemazioni trovate in Islanda questa si piazza tra gli ultimi posti insieme a quella di Reykjavik. Di positivo c'è che è vicino alla blue lagoon!

Abbiamo dormito due notti in questo guesthouse e ci siamo trovati bene.|Avevamo prenotato col booking e avevamo già pagato tutto. Abbiamo trovato un biglietto all'ingresso con istruzioni e abbiamo dormito usato cucina e andati via senza vedere nessuno. Nel complesso camera pulita due bagni in comune alle camere e cucina attrezzata. Unica cosa c'erano troppi resto di cibo di tutte le persone che passavano di lì bisognerebbe buttare via un po' di roba. Nel complesso ci siamo trovati bene visto anche il prezzo basso rispetto alle altre strutture. Buona la posizione vicino al Blue lagoon.
