Difficult to reach place, is a side road of the ring road towards Hofn. Here you need a 4x4. once parked you have a nice view of the lighthouse, beach in the distance that you can reach by walking there (or go and park there) and the sea behind the lighthouse. The mountains also bring a nice view with the lighthouse in the foreground. Too bad that antenna can next to it.

Fantastic view from the lighthouse from an elevated position over the spectacular coastline with rough seas, black beach and exciting rock formations. Incredible colours and light conditions on the day of the visit in mid-October. Due to its location on a headland, the view extends far to the west and east. It is relatively easy to move around the area surrounding the lighthouse for different photo perspectives.
The approach to the lighthouse is not signposted on the ring road and is located in a long bend. It is definitely worth turning back if you have missed the access. The access road is narrow and very uneven for the first few metres.

A nice spot on the fjords road between Höfn and Egilstadir.
Birding is great even though we missed the best season ... our September visit missed most of the birds nesting.
But plan a stop here to enjoy the scenery.
And walk around to look for birds or to comtemplate the waves crashing on the basalt rocks.
