We loved our snorkeling tour with Freedive. We did a private tour (2 of us plus the guide) and had the perfect amount of education and viewing. The water is extremely cold but our wetsuits kept us warmer than we expected. Your face will go numb though! The water is totally clear and you can see through to the bottom. It’s a surreal experience being between the tectonic plates. Definitely don’t miss Little Silfra in the lagoon area too.

Coach Bjarni was very friendly and lovely 😊 He clearly explained the dive spots, gave some tips on how to spend time in the water and showed us great spots to take photos and videos! I really enjoyed the dive and will be back next time to dive with Bjarni! 😁

Did a Silfra free dive tour back in early April with Bjarni as our guide (he was fab). He had a wicked sense of humour and gave just the right amount of attention to ensure we were alright. Photos of our experience were well taken too.

We had no issues with the water temperature (didn’t feel the cold at all) and the walk back to the van was fine as well. It was a very comfortable experience and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

The freedom to duck dive in Silfra was the reason we went with Freedive Iceland. And the experience received will be the reason we continue to engage them for adventures when we return to Iceland 😊

This is a great company offering a great experience. My daughter (25) and I went on a snorkel. They use really thick wetsuits so you stay warm, but don’t have the experience of swimming in air. The water is coming off the glacier into the fissure between the two plates. A gentle current takes you along. You see the fissure, the algae and the amazing color of the water. We were in the water for 50 minutes and got out when our cheeks, , fingers and toes were cold. Other tours were faster. Our guide let us take our time. We changed in the heated van, enjoyed a cup of cocoa and will be telling each other the story of the day we shared for years to come. Everything fit to size. Our guide cared to make it a great experience for each of us. We were 4 people. No group is bigger than 6. All the tours put in at the same place and out at the same place. The difference may be in the equipment and guide. Watching the dry suit groups go in before us, I was glad to be in a wetsuit. The guide took photos of us underwater with a GoPro and will upload those for us at no extra cost. It felt like an adventure even though it was so easy. And exhilarating. Thank you for a memorable afternoon.

Our entire experience with Freedive was incredible from start to finish. Communication before our dive was prompt and helpful, and Bjarni’s expertise and humour made him an outstanding guide. He thoroughly described the dive site, gave us tips on making the most of our time in the water, and helped me capture some lovely photos/ videos even though it was my first time freediving.

My sister and I did the freedive at Silfra. It was a great experience. The water was chilly but you wear a 7mm wetsuit which keeps you comfortable. The cold water is only on your face but it is tolerable, you don't feel uncomfortable at all. Silfra is stunning. The water changes from a brownish hue to blue to green and it is clear. And even though there is no sea life, there is much to look at. The guys from Freedive were very helpful in helping us get ready and into properly fitting gear. They were also very entertaining. I highly recommend using them for this experience. My advice to anyone who wants to do this is to figure out how much weight you need to go deeper into the water in a 7mm wetsuit. It will make a big difference being properly weighted and the first meter down takes some effort.

Amazing experience, diving in the freezing crystal waters of Silfra. We are a family of four, with tweenager boys and everybody enjoyed it so much! The wetsuit was comfortable and kepts us surprisingly warm, the only thing we had to deal with was the freezing water on our face which was exposed, but you get used to it in a while. Both instructors were friendly, explanative and supportive throughout the whole tour. We were dressed/undressed in a warm van, and in the end we were offeres hot cocoa and chocolate. If you are in Silfra it's an experience you can't miss.

Awesome guide and amazing snorkeling experience. Much more personal experience than some of the larger operators I encountered.
