We have rented from the downtown Avis/Budget at least 5 times so far and they have been incredibly helpful and professional. They have gone out of their way to anticipate how to make our rental experience easier, and have assisted us when we booked the wrong vehicle. They also have free coffee and tea in the lobby. I couldn't recommend them enough.

We reserved a car from Budget, which shares the office with Avis. We came on a cruise ship and it was an easy walk to the office. We were told that our reservation had been canceled the day before. They couldn't explain who had canceled the reservation (was NOT us) and why. There were no other cars available - apparently in ALL of Akureyri. I believe that our less expensive reservation was canceled so that our car could be rented at a much higher price. No one at the office or at corporate was helpful! Very disappointing.

Meine Erfahrung mit Avis Akureyri war leider enttäuschend. Der Mietwagen, ein älteres Modell, hatte das ernsthafte Manko, dass die Fenster aufgrund fehlender Kurbeln nicht geöffnet werden konnten, was den Komfort erheblich beeinträchtigte.

Die Abholung des Fahrzeugs in Reykjavík, Island, verlief zwar reibungslos und schnell, und die Mitarbeiter vor Ort sind nicht verantwortlich für die Probleme. Jedoch gab es zwei Abbuchungen von meiner Kreditkarte: eine am 31. Juli 2024 von Avis-Budget Car Rental in Reykjavík und eine weitere am 1. August 2024 von Avis Rent-A-Car 1, Virginia BE, US. Die zweite Abbuchung wird auf meiner Visa-Kreditkarte als „NEU“ angezeigt und ist noch nicht endgültig verarbeitet, obwohl bereits eine Zahlung erfolgt ist. Dies erscheint unnötig und verwirrend, da bereits eine Zahlung getätigt wurde.

Diese doppelten Abbuchungen und die unklare Abrechnung haben zu erheblichen Unannehmlichkeiten geführt. Die Kommunikation mit dem Kundenservice war äußerst schwierig und zeitaufwendig, und der Betrag wurde bisher nicht zurückerstattet. Ich sehe mich nun gezwungen, meine Kreditkartenfirma einzuschalten, um das Problem zu klären.

In Zukunft werde ich Avis nicht mehr wählen. Im Gegensatz dazu hatten wir mit MyCar in Reykjavík, Island, eine ausgezeichnete Erfahrung bezüglich Service und Kommunikation. Das nächste Mal werde ich MyCar bevorzugen und weiterempfehlen

We reserved a car from Budget, which shares the office with Avis. We came on a cruise ship and it was an easy walk to the office. The staff was especially helpful, even explaining the speed limits and how to avoid the tunnel toll (thank you, Hakon). The car was nice and it was clean. Overall a great experience and I recommend it.
