We had a very nice experience with picking up the car at the Hertz desk. The desk was easy to find, had to wait around 15 mins in the queue as there were ppl ahead of us. We got the car that we had booked for - Duster 4*4. The lady at the counter explained to me clearly the different things to take care of the dopey during wind, the road pebbles in Northern Iceland, and maintain distance so that the chips don't crack the front lights or windscreen and even some of the signs of the road. The car worked perfectly fine , did not give us any issues even when we were driving on the F roads. The drop off was also straight forward and easy. And they don't block charges on the card. Overall a very nice experience and a peaceful trip. Thanks to the team.

Ai limiti della legalità!
Alla riconsegna ci dicono che i vetri sono stati rovinati da una tempesta di sabbia, puntando il dito verso delle zone dei vetri che a noi apparivano perfettamente sani o almeno identici alla situazione di inizio noleggio. Quando abbiamo chiesto l'ammontare dei danni che secondo loro erano presenti sul veicolo ci rispondono: "A lot of money". Sembrava uno scherzo organizzato. Andiamo di fretta perchè ci parte l'aereo. All'atterraggio troviamo transazioni sulla carta di credito dai 1600 euro ai 650, senza una logica o un documento che spiegasse il motivo. Credo che il loro sia un approccio furbo per attirare clienti con prezzi bassi e poi recuperare tramite procedure al limite della legalità.

Ci sentiamo totalmente truffati da Firefly...che poi è Hertz! Ci continuano a prelevare importi (da 50 a 1600 €!!) per immaginari "danni da sabbia" contestati alla riconsegna del veicolo, e chissa per cos'altro che non hanno avuto neanche il buon gusto di indicare in occasione del prelievo o dei tentativi di prelievo. Senza alcun documento, prova, fattura. Mai subito un trattamento del genere negli oltre 30 autonoleggi effettuati all'estero. Vergognosi a dir poco. Evitateli come la peste.

DA EVITARE ASSOLUTAMENTE!!
Ci è stato addebitato un importo di 220 euro per motivi che nemmeno ci hanno saputo spiegare. Vergognosi, ora nemmeno rispondono alle nostre mail e chiamate. Hertz e Firefly Islanda da evitare assolutamente.

I rented a car with FireFly at Keflavik Airport in August 2024, and the experience could not have been worse.

A few days before traveling to Iceland, I decided to pay extra to upgrade my car (a Dacia Duster) to a more premium model.

When I arrived at the car rental desk at the airport, the company did not have enough cars available and only offered me the option of accepting a Dacia Duster, without offering any form of compensation for the downgrade, which I declined. Seeing that no other options were available, I asked to speak to the manager (Ms. Jurate Magnus), who only agreed to talk to me by phone. The manager did not offer any solution either, and when I asked for complaint forms, I was told they were not required by law to provide them in Iceland.

Before hanging up, Ms. Jurate Magnus literally told me that she would make sure I did not leave the airport with a FireFly car, adding that no other companies at the airport had cars available (which, unfortunately, was true). Ms. Jurate Magnus spoke with the lady in charge at the rental desk, who confirmed that I had not shown any bad manners or behavior. Eventually, they found no reason to deny me the car.

I had no other option but to accept the car they gave me and pay the original price charged. However, I have initiated a formal legal claim against the FireFly team in Iceland to request the compensation I deserve and to help ensure that similar issues do not happen to other customers in the future.

Conclusion: Avoid renting a car with FireFly at all costs. It is definitely worth paying extra to get better service from another company and avoid having your vacation ruined.

Made a reservation via Carjet by Firefly (which is indeed now Hertz). It is a short search on the airport for the right counter. However, I don't recognize other reviews; service from Hertz was great. Car was a bit old I guess, but nevertheless a good one. Also the check at returning the car was quick and good. The guy offered to bring us to the airport, but since it is a 5 minute walk that wasn't necessary.

Non ha senso riservare l auto presso questa compagnia perché è stata acquisita da Hertz. Conviene farlo direttamente con Hertz così ti risparmi qualche sorpresa!
In quanto l accordo e le condizioni stipulate con Firefly non esistono in Hertz e quindi quando arriverai li dovrai ristipulare un nuovo accordo, nel mio caso più costoso (circa 250€ in più ).
In ogni caso all aeroporto trovi il cartello di piccole dimensioni con su scritto Firefly che ti manda al personale di Hertz.

Per essere onesti dovrebbero almeno avvisarti per email o bloccare la possibilità di prenotare L auto con Firefly, in quanto le condizioni pattuite inizialmente che hanno costituito la mia scelta sono variate.

Il noleggio si effettua alla Hertz (cosa che nessuno ci ha detto), poi vai ad cazzum a cercarti la macchina da solo in un parcheggio vicino all’hotel Aurora, il numero da chiamare loro non funziona e come se non bastasse l’assicurazione prenotata online in realtà non includeva sassi, che date le loro strade va fatta.
Inoltre postilla: se gliela dai indietro troppo sporca paghi 21mila ISK di lavaggio, cioè 140€ !!! Ma per piacere…
