Lovely museum.
You need to pop off at the sea
monsters and myth museum
on the way.( You literally pass it. )

So the Samuel J art museum.
It's at the end of the road
in a large valley.

It's well worth the run just for the museum. But you also get the scenery.
The drive over is spectacular on its own.

So, you get to the museum and will be greeted by the ladies who volunteer there.

Now you are in great hands.
And will get a thorough telling
of the life of Samuel J.

Also grab a drink and a cake.
I won't add more, it would spoil it.
Definitely worth the visit!!!!!

Wenn man sich im Vorfeld mit dem Leben des Künstlers beschäftigt, ist dieser Besuch sehr beeindruckend. Wer ohne Wissen hinfährt, könnte es befremdlich finden, bzw. versteht das "Museum" nicht und kann es nicht wertschätzen!
Die Fahrt dorthin ist sehr schön, trotz Schotterstraße.

une association entretien ce lieu si inspirant et chargé de belles histoire. Il faut faire la visite expliquée et imaginer cet homme et sa femme en train de construite son "palais idéal"

Down a gravel road, 15 miles from Bíldudalur, I stumbled across this gem.
There was someone there and they gave a tour and history of the place. Even had coffee for sale. I left a donation at the box out front. Seemed appropriate for this little surprise in the middle of nowhere.

As we arrived we thought it's was not worth the drive.
After reading this guy made those sculptures around 1958.... maybe we should of made the eff& go in?
From the outside it looked somewhat childish. I guess we'll never know!
We did love the road!!
